Jui-jitsu Triangle Hold

This is a hold where your on the bottom and the opponent is on top. The purpose of a triangle is when the opponent is caught off guard and you have one of your leg wrap on the back of his head and using your other leg to pull him down. Eventually you would squeeze your leg together to make him either tap out or pass out.

Step 1 - Your on guard with your feet wrap around him (closed guard) and create an X behind his back with your foot. Your opponent is in mount (he is between your leg and he is on top).

Step 2* - Grab your opponent's wrist or little further down for control. While your doing this, squeeze your thigh together so he doesn't try to get out.

Step 3* - Push or shove one of his arm down between your leg. Open your guard - you let go of your leg hold. If you choose your right arm, your left leg goes over his shoulder, behind his head. At the same time move your right leg upward and place your left foot under your right knee.

Step 4 - Pull his arm to your opposite shoulder, raise your hip and squeeze.

Tips:

For Step 2 - Their is a lot of variation on how to control your opponent wrist. This is a simple way of doing it. You could control one arm. He could try to break your guard and have one arm under your leg. The point is, just try to use the move before the opponent realize what is happening.

For Step 3 - If your having trouble getting your leg across back of his head. Use your hand to pull your leg down so you can place your foot under your leg. If your still having trouble, hold on to his arm tightly and wrap your free arm (the side your leg is across is back) under his thigh or grab his ankle and pull. This will angle your body a little better to put the hold onto your opponent.
